Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library started in Tennessee in 1995 where Dolly grew up. Inspired by her father’s inability to read. The program was so successful it grew to include local community partners in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, and the Republic of Ireland.

The program provides free books to children from birth to age 5, regardless of the family’s income. Each month, registered children receive a high quality, age-appropriate book addressed to them, at no cost to the child’s family. The program sends more than 2 million books per month to children around the world, inspiring millions of children to acquire the love of reading.

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library works with local affiliates to register area children. To sign your child up visit Dolly’s website, https://imaginationlibrary.com/

The organization also takes donations, that enables the program to continue to flourish.

Statistics show that children who grow up reading and being read to perform better in school, show improved cognitive function, are more likely to love reading as adults, have advanced language skills and more.

Reading to your children helps to build a bond between you and them. Take advantage of this wonderful program to give your child the gift of books.
